Doodle AG

In an online poll, the readers of IT magazine InfoWeek awarded the 2008 Swiss ICT Public Award to the Zurich company Doodle AG: The “Newcomer” finalist helps companies and individuals to make appointments. The tool also supports general surveys which groups can use to agree e.g. on the logo for the new web site, or the film for the next get-together. Doodle is also particularly popular with the readers of InfoWeek because it is free, and does not require any software installation or registration.

Christian and François Dallmann have made a name for themselves in high performance computing. The supercomputers they build in their company, Dalco, are among the world leaders. So far, they have created 36 jobs, with annual sales around CHF 40 million.

Daniel Gorostidi

Daniel Gorostidi has been with ELCA Informatik (formerly Electro-Calcul SA) in Lausanne since 1979. He started there as a development engineer, and since 2001 has been the company’s majority shareholder and president of the board. Under his leadership, the company has expanded in recent years to Bern, Geneva and Zurich, and moved abroad to Paris, London and even Ho Chi Minh City.
